Facility
Design, Inc. offers the following engineering services to assist you,
depending upon the specific needs of your project.
We have provided services to a variety of clients including Owners,
General Contractors,Specialty Subcontractors and Engineering Consultants.
All design drawings are prepared using AutoCad computer software and can be
easily transmitted via e-mail.
STORAGE
SILO DESIGN AND INSPECTION
Total
design of both slipform and jumpform reinforced concrete silos for the storage of bulk
materials such as coal, grain, cement, clinker, fly ash, clay, sand, soda ash, dolomite,
saltcake, cullet and pebble lime.
Evaluation
of bulk material flowability laboratory testing and studies to determine hopper
configurations, hopper slopes, discharge opening sizes, liner materials, and to establish
material parameters for design of silo walls, floors and hoppers.
Finite
element modeling to analyze and design silos for asymmetric flow conditions, complex
foundations, interstice storage and inverted cone hoppers.
Coordination
of project requirements with Geotechnical Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to provide
integrated silo structural design compatible with the foundation recommendations and
equipment layouts at the least total cost to the client.
Inspection
and evaluation of existing storage silos, including preparation of drawings and
specifications for silo repairs after identifying problem sources and developing
recommended corrective measures.
STRUCTURAL
DESIGN SERVICES
Reinforced
concrete and structural steel design for industrial and bulk material handling facilities.
Design
of pile and drilled pier foundations, mat foundations, rail and truck receiving pits and
retaining walls.
Conveyor
trusses and towers, sampling buildings, barge and ship loading structures, crushing and
screening facilities, stacking tubes and reclaim tunnels.
Periodic
on-site inspections, structural investigations, conceptual studies and preliminary
designs, and estimates of quantities during the proposal phase.
Manufacturing
plants, warehouses and commercial facilities.
MECHANICAL
DESIGN SERVICES
General
layout and design of bulk material handling facilities, including belt conveyor design,
power transmission component selection, feeder and equipment design and selection, scales
and batch weighing, mass flow gate design, proportioning and cut-off gates, and diverters
and turnheads.
Dust
collection systems, pneumatic conveying systems, air slides, compressed air systems and
hydraulic systems.
